Find a speak English partner
With modern technology, learning English speaking is easier than ever before. I suggest you download skype which is a free voice over internet protocol and you can talk skype to skype free of charge.
Once you have skype installed, search the internet for language swap. One Australian website where you can find help is www.gumtree.com.au. When you arrive, search language swap, and you will find ads where people will swap English for another language. Some people don't want a swap, they will just help you with English.
Another great website is http://www.exchangealanguage.com so give them a try also.
Not everyone advertises to use skype. If you don't see what you want, you can place an ad and suggest a skype conversation to learn English.
One good thing about skype is that you can use video and see the person you are talking to.
Listen to English speaking
You must listen to English speaking if you want to learn English speaking. For serious study, you should have some books such as Headway, Cutting Edge or Language Leader. These books all have audio CD's so you can use them.
Here is a method to practice your English speaking
- Listen and read at the same time
- Listen only - several times
- Read out loud - many times
- Listen again
Now record your speaking on a voice recorder
Now it is time to test yourself. For this you need a voice recorder because you must be able to hear yourself speak English. This can be a bit scary, but it is essential.
In the step above, you were practicing. Now, here is what you do next.
- Record yourself reading the text aloud
- Listen to your recording
- Listen to the original audio CD recording
- Listen to your recording again
- Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 as many times as you like, listening carefully.
- Try again, each time trying to sound better.
